ACIS Modeler is Thread-Safe
ACIS Modeler thread-safe capabilities enable multi-threaded applications to take advantage of multi-core hardware platforms for compute intensive operations. CAD, CAM, and CAE and related applications that support assembly models can achieve significant performance gains in areas such as regeneration of models in an assembly, assembly loading and faceting, and generating section views of assembly parts, and global operations that affect multiple parts, such as an assembly cut. ACIS as a thread-safe 3D modeler provides benefits which include near linear performance gains on multi-core hardware platforms.
Applications must be multi-threaded to achieve performance gains with thread-safe ACIS. In most cases incremental development work is required. Spatial development and professional service resources are available to assist in the development effort.

PHL V5
The Spatial PHL V5 product enables rapid development of 2D documentation and drawing features for use in a myriad of solutions including engineering, architecture, and manufacturing by providing easy access to proven hidden line removal technology (HLR). HLR improves the quality of product documentation by allowing the creation of images where only the edges of the model visible from a given perspective will be displayed. In industries such as CAD/CAM, accurate HLR renderings are required. Inclusion of HLR in your toolset enables a comprehensive solution to produce accurate documentation and drawings of any 3D design.
PHL V5 has a reputation for accuracy and speed, proven through heavy use under the most demanding conditions. This technology is readily integrated into applications via an easy to implement set of robust APIs, enhancing the functionality of traditional 3D modeling and visualization tools. Advanced Covering
Advanced Covering is a feature of Deformable Modeling that is now available as a standalone add-on for the 3D ACIS Modeler. This single API uses sophisticated algorithms to create high-quality n-sided surfaces that meet user-specified tolerances for position and tangency on boundaries and on optional internal guiding geometry. Advanced Covering allows a surface to be fit onto circuits (collections of edges that form closed loops) in solid or wire bodies. Many of our customers use Advanced Covering for post-translation surface replacement or re-covering, non-planar end-capping, and surface definition from curve data.

Defeaturing
Defeaturing automatically identifies and removes small features that CAE analysts typically want to eliminate from a 3D model prior to meshing. Increasingly CAE analysts work from the same models that are used for design and manufacturing, but these models often carry much more detail than is appropriate for simulation or analysis purposes. By removing unnecessary detail, Defeaturing simplifies the model, a process that typically is done manually at a significant cost. The feature recognition parameters of Defeaturing are easily configured to achieve the level of detail desired by the analysis engineer. Exposed as a single API, Defeaturing can be implemented in a single day by an experienced programmer.

Deformable Modeling
3D Deformable Modeling is a unique interactive sculpting tool for shaping 3D models while maintaining high-quality, manufacturable surfaces. 3D Deformable Modeling provides local and global editing features that allow for the easy creation and manipulation of free-form B-spline curves and surfaces. With this product, you can interactively sculpt shapes that automatically adhere to rich sets of constraints. It allows you to perform manipulations on curves and surfaces that would otherwise be extremely difficult or impossible to accomplish using control point manipulation, saving significant end-user time and resources.
Due to its precise shape and surface definition capabilities, 3D Deformable Modeling is ideal for complex mechanical jobs that require the rapid development of innovative surface and curve features, such as industrial design, aircraft skin and foil design (aerospace), automotive styling, prototype development, simulation, product design, shipbuilding, and free-form surface design for CAD/CAM/CAE and AEC applications.
